Persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) at a workplace must comply with the duties contained within the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 (WHS General Regulations). PCBUs must ensure:
- the fitness and competence of persons who carry out general diving work and high risk diving work
- the health and safety of persons who carry out general diving work and high risk diving work
- the health and safety of other persons at workplaces where general diving work or high risk diving work is carried out.
The General diving work: Checklist has been produced to assist PCBUs undertaking general diving work to meet the requirements of WHS General Regulations. It can be used to develop and implement safe work procedures through consultation with workers and their health and safety representatives, where applicable.
